Atera Gorge Camp Site is at 6.3km from the estuary of the Atera River. The site doesn’t have a hut. If you want to stay overnight, you need a tent and other equipment with you. To use the site, you need a reservation.

On the way to the camp site, you can enjoy beautiful views along the Atera River. A relic of the forestry railway, a small shrine of a mountain god, a waterfall that only appears on rainy day named Ugen-No-Taki waterfall, and a very clear blue water called Atera Blue. An official guide map is available but it is dated 2020. Be advised to get the latest information especially about a community bus if you plan to use it from the web site of the village office, which is in Japanese. If you need an assist, freely contact me.

If you are lucy, you can see a falling water at the Waterfall-Appear-Rainy-Day.
Even though you will not stay at the camp site, the hike to the camp site is very fun.
Note that the camp site is outside of the service area of smart phones. So, no telehone or internet access is available there. In other words, you can get free from any contact through a communication network.
