Ginkgo Nuts in Season

未分類

One of the key harvests in Okuwa Village is ginkgo nuts. There is a Japanese Shinto shrine near my house with an ancient giant ginkgo tree, which has produced an abundant harvest this year.

The shrine’s grounds are covered with a large number of ginkgo nuts that have fallen from the tree.

I collected some of the nuts and placed them in a plastic bag. After about a month, the flesh and seeds separate due to decomposition.

Leave them for a month. Once the seeds are washed and dried in the sun, they become edible ginkgo nuts.
