Okuwa village hosted a night cherry blossom festival on April 20th, 2024. Many villagers gathered at the Okuwa village sports park in the evening.
There are several varieties of cherry blossoms, and the park is renowned for its beautiful double cherry blossoms. Many double cherry trees line a path in the park, displaying wonderful flowers with lanterns.
In the evening, bonfires were lit, creating a festive atmosphere.
Numerous vendors offered delicious meals and drinks, which many villagers enjoyed around a fountain pond.
As an attraction, a local drum community performed Japanese drums. It was truly captivating, as two elementary school girls played the drums in the second line on both sides. They wore traditional Japanese masks depicting long-nosed goblins, foxes and crows, enhancing the performance.
After the festival, summer will soon arrive in the village.
